Please consider volunteering in our areas of greatest need:
Adult mentor for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade (You and 2-3 teens will be the point person to greet the children each morning, guide them to each of their classes (someone else will teach the classes), and encourage them in their faith and prayer life. Help fill this important role!
Middle School Small Group Co-Leader: Adults or High Schoolers co-lead a group of 6-8 middle school students.
Elementary Music Teacher: 2 Music teachers are needed to help elementary children worship through music. Great music and videos with hand motions provided!
Middle School Tie Dye Coordinator and Assistants: (on Tuesday, June 18th only)
Adult Assistants in PK/Kindergarten: All 5 days or 2-3 days during the week. Assist lead teacher and teen volunteers in classroom.
Coordinate VBS Staff Lounge: (or assist a day or two) Help care for the VBS volunteers!
VBS Safety Team: Assist with Pick Up and Drop Off and monitor the campus and building to keep our children safe. (Just one day, a few days, or all 5 days!)
Assist with Stage Set up (June 14th) and Stage Take Down (June 20th): Help us most the stage from Resurrection Parish to All Saints on Saturday, June 14th and return it on June 20th.
VBS needs about 200 volunteers to make this year a success! Sign up for adult and teen volunteers in early 2025 via SignUpGenius using the button above. You do not need to be a SignUpGenius member to sign up. Just check out the tabs at the top of the SignUpGenius and choose the job you are interested in. Note: Adult and Teen sign ups are separated and can be found by following the link “Group: Show more sign ups.” (Hint: If using a cell phone, look for the drop down menus.) Follow the prompts to enter your name, e-mail and phone number, which is needed for communication about VBS.
You may volunteer for all five days, just a day or two, or do prep work from home. Additional tabs (like at-home tasks) will be added in the coming weeks. We need help coordinating several of the areas and also just need extra hands in many areas. The options are endless! We offer free childcare for our in-house volunteers with young children (0-4 years old). The children will experience much of the VBS experience and have as much fun as the big kids!
You will have plenty of resources and training to enable you to have a fun filled week with your VBS kids! Let God use you at VBS. You will be amazed how much it blesses you!

Adult (AGE 18+) Volunteer REQUIREMENTS: DUE May 23rd, 2025
As of November 1st, 2023, the Archdiocese of Detroit requires all volunteers to submit a background check authorization form to each entity in the AOD (renewed each year), read and sign the code of conduct form, and take the Protecting God’s Children Workshop (re-certified every 3 years). The VBS leadership team’s top priority is the safety of all who attend our program. We need volunteers to comply by May 23rd in order to keep your preferred position at VBS. With over 180 volunteers, waiting until the last minute to complete these requirements puts a strain on our VBS staff. Thank you so much for meeting these requirements early!

TEEN Volunteer REQUIREMENTS: DUE May 23rd, 2025 (all those under 18 years of age)

For teens who are currently in high school (Please note: Current middle school students do not need to take this) and not yet 18 years old, an online, asynchronous training session called Healthy Relationships for Teens 2.0 is required by the Archdiocese of Detroit. Go to Virtus.org and complete this requirement by May 23rd to keep your preferred position at VBS. Catholic School students should have received this training in their school, and therefore will not need to take this online training. Need reimbursement for a VBS expense? Please email Michelle Mahoney at bookkeeper48187@gmail.com with expense amounts and what was purchased. If approved, you may download a check request form HERE and turn/mail/email it into the Resurrection Church office. Please note: there may be a delay in reimbursement.
